The Feldgendarmerie were military police units formed in the Napoleonic era by the armies of several German kingdoms - Saxony, Württemberg, Prussian and Bavaria - which later became parts of the German Empire. In peacetime the units served with the Prussian Gendarmerie as a mounted police.
Dissolved after the First World War, the Feldgendarmerie were reintroduced in 1933 when Hitler seized power. Personnel were trained in a special military school in Potsdam. Due to strict training conditions and high demands placed on the candidates, only a small number of soldiers managed to graduate and join the force.
Staying behind the theatre of operations during WWII, the Feldgendarmerie closely worked with the Geheime Feldpolizei (Secret Field Police) and SS in the rear. Their duties were to monitor traffic and population control, fight with partisans as well as arrest and execute rebellions. According to some historians, the Feldgendarmerie soldiers were also involved in war crimes and Jewish purges in occupied territories.
In the period between 1943 and 1945 the Feldgendarmerie were infamously known for chasing and executing deserters, many of which were wrongfully convicted. This gave the units a bad name "Kettenhunde" or "Chained Dogs" after the gorget they wore with their uniforms.

AEC Armoured Car was developed by AEC (Associated Equipment Company) as a private venture with an aim to obtain an order from the Army. When the vehicle was shown to officials at the Horse Guards Parade in London in 1941, it made an impression on Winston Churchill and it was decided to put the AEC Car into production. A total of 629 vehicles were produced until 1944, which included three variants - Mk. I, Mk. II and Mk. III.
No other WWII armoured car was armed and armoured as heavily as the AEC Armoured Car. The Mk. III version was equipped with a ROQF 75 mm (2.95 in) main gun, and its frontal armor was 65 mm thick. The vehicle's protection was superior to any other British armoured car at the time.
Most Mk. 3's were used in Western Europe, Northern France and the Low Countries. The AEC Armoured Car remained in service until 1958.

The Dingo was a British light two-man armoured car, relatively low and wide enough to have the required stability for fast off-road rides. Its initial armour was thin, just enough to stand against infantry ordnance. At the Army’s request, it was thickened, reaching 30mm (1.18 in) on the front nose and glacis. Deflecting armoured sloped panels were welded all around the central framework. The front driving compartment had four opening hatches. The engine was the regular Daimler 6-cyl 2.5 l 55 hp (41 kW), fed by a 300 l (79.25 gal) gasoline reserve (two tanks), which gave an incredibly long range for its small size. The transmission consisted of a pre-selector gearbox, fluid flywheel, five forward gears and five reverse gears, allowing steering with all four wheels. This feature gave the Dingo a very tight turning radius, only 7m (23 ft), but the system was tricky to master for inexperienced drivers, so a more conventional design with front-wheel steering was chosen.
During the course of wartime production, it appeared that the flat bottom plate, which allowed the crossing of uneven ground, was highly vulnerable to mines. The rubber tires were of the run-flat semi-solid type, so no spares were carried, but their toughness was compensated by the massive vertical coil springs, to give a smooth ride. There was a swiveling seat next to the driver, for a machine-gun servant/radio operator, equipped with a N°19 wireless radio set. The base armament was a removable cal. 0.303 (7.7 mm) Bren gun, with a dozen spare magazines. This armament could be swapped over for a heavier Boys antitank rifle (cal 0.55 in/14 mm). This gave the vehicle, which was fast and well-protected, with a good engine and low profile, a real advantage against all sorts of light vehicles, making it perfectly suited for reconnaissance and liaison missions.
The Dingo was produced from 1939 to 1945, and remained virtually unaltered. The Mark IB was the third variant of the series. It had a reverse cooling air flow and new armoured grilles for the radiator, allowing better ventilation. The bulk of these vehicles served in the Libyan desert.
This kit represents a British Dingo MK IB armoured car and three British crew-members: a driver, an observer and an officer. All three figures are dressed in British desert uniforms and armed with holstered revolvers. The officer has a pair of binoculars, a water bottle and a map case.

One of them is equipped with a tire pump, the other holds a hand crank, and the third one with his sleeves rolled up has a piece of cloth to wipe dust and dirt off the vehicle.
The other two drivers are dressed in cold weather clothes: one soldier in a greatcoat and 'Ushanka' hat pouring water from a pail and the other is dressed in both a 'Telogreika' jacket and 'Ushanka' hat with his hand positioned to hold a steering wheel.

Two of them (the commander and the driver) are dressed in British denim tank suits and suitable for dioramas set in Italy or Northwestern Europe during WWII. The commander has a Ruger MK II pistol holster and a pair of ear phones. The driver also is carrying a pistol holster as well as an ammo pouch. His arms are positioned to hold a steering wheel of the Mk III Dingo scout car.
The other three figures can be used with the Dingo Mk.Ib car in dioramas dedicated to the North African or Italian campaigns. The officer is equipped with a pistol holster, small ammo pouch, binoculars, binocular case, haversack and water bottle. Italian tank crews wore blue overalls, black leather tanker’s helmets with neck guards, and black leather overcoats. The hot climate uniform was similar to the regular one, but made of a light khaki drill. Italian officers were dressed in black lather jackets with lapels. The distinguishing feature of officer's uniform was a five-pointed star in one of the lapels. Italian troops also wore side caps know as "Bustinas" ("Bustina" is an Italian word for "side cap"). The caps were of the standard Italian Grey-Green colour.

The USV was a Soviet 76 mm cannon issued in 1939 for the demands of the Red Army. The gun was classified as "divisional" because it was specifically meant for batteries under the direct command of division headquarters. Based on the previous F-22 design, the USV gun was also called the F-22 USV.
By 1940 over a thousand units were ready, and in 1941 when the plan for divisional guns was fulfilled, the production stopped, however not for long. With the German invasion of the Soviet Union the production was reopened at the Barrikady factory in Stalingrad and No. 92 Plant in Nizhny Novgorod. The relaunched model was designated the USV-BR. It was widely deployed in 1941, the first year of the Great Patriotic War. Over eight thousand units were built in the following two years, but by the end of 1942 the USV-BR was completely replaced by the simpler and cheaper ZiS-3.

The cloaks were introduced after the Winter War against Finland (1939 - 1940). They were made of coarse calico and included a loose shirt with a cape and wide trousers. On the sides there were slits to access soldiers' equipment.

In August 1944 the Polish resistance Home Army (Polish: Armia Krajowa) incited an uprising in order to end German occupation and prevent the consolidation of the Red Army in Warsaw. Aimed at restoration of the Polish government-in-exile, the Uprising was against both Nazi and Soviet troops. However, the Germans managed to halt the Soviet advance to Warsaw and defeat Polish resistance. The Uprising was the largest military campaign taken by any resistance movement in Europe in the period of WWII.
This diorama kit features a corner of a ruined building on a base made from vacuum-formed plastic, as well as a ZiS-2 57mm anti-tank gun and a crew of five Soviet soldiers. The crew includes a crew commander, a loader, a gunner, and two other soldiers carrying ammunition supplies. There are special cavities in the base for the gun wheels. Additional parts for a ZIS-3 76.2mm gun are provided.

Operation Market Garden began on the 17th of September 1944 with the landing of Allied forces in the Netherlands. Aiming to seize the bridges across the Maas and the Rhine, British paratroopers suddenly lost radio communication and failed to achieve the objectives of the mission.
The kit represents three British paratroopers seized by a pair of Germans from the Luftwaffe Field Division. Both Germans are equipped with Karabiner 98 kurz rifles, ammo pouches, bread bags, water bottles and knives. One of the British soldiers has an ammo pouch as well. The Daimler Mk. I, or the 'Dingo', was a British four wheel drive scout car often captured by the Nazis during WWII and renamed Leichter Pz.Kpfw. Mk. I 202(e).
Designed by Birmingham Small Arms Company, the Dingo was produced by Daimler in 1939. It had two man crew and was used as a reconnaissance vehicle. Its key advantages included the special gearbox, which allowed five speeds in both directions, and a four-wheel steering system, which gave a turning circle of 7 m. The Dingo first saw action with British troops in the Battle of France. It remained in British service till 1952 with over 6,000 units produced by that time.

Based on the earlier T-64 model, the Soviet T-80 is a third-generation main battle tank which entered service in 1976. The T-80 was designed to use a 1,000 horsepower gas turbine, but some later variants have a 750-horsepower diesel engine. The 125mm 2A46 smoothbore gun can fire anti-tank guided missiles and regular ordnance. The production of T-80 for the Russian Army has stopped, but the Omsk plant still produces the tank for export. The T-80 and its variants are in service in Armenia, Belarus, Cyprus, China, Egypt, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Pakistan, Russia, Ukraine and Yemen.

The 101st Airborne Division nicknamed the "Screaming Eagles" is a light infantry division of the US Army specialised in air attacks. During WWII the Division took part in several allied military operations including the D-Day landings, Operation Market Garden and the Battle of the Bulge.
The initial part of Operation Overlord began on the night of June 6, 1944 with the parachute landings of the 101st Airborne Division in Normandy, known as Mission Albany. Almost 7,000 US paratroopers descended in the northwest of France, however, low visibility, bad weather conditions and German ground fire affected the landing accuracy. The troops were badly scattered over the area, so most of the mission objectives were not attained.
This kit represents three German soldiers captured by two American paratroopers from the 101st Airborne Division.

The Soviet anti-tank gun ZiS-3, also known as the 76-mm divisional gun M1942, was constructed at the Artillery Factory No. 92 in 1940 for the needs of the Red Army suffering enormous losses at the beginning of the Second World War. The gun was developed by V.G. Grabin, a Soviet artillery designer. The ZiS-3 design was based on the F-22USV cannon and the ZiS-2 anti-tank gun. Combining the F-22USV barrel and the ZiS-2 carriage, the ZiS-3 turned out to be far more effective compared to its prototypes. Unlike the F-22USV, the ZiS-3 was equipped with a muzzle brake which allowed to reduce recoil. Besides, its production was a lot easier and cheaper because most parts were manufactured by means of casting, and it was allowed to use materials lower in quality.
During the war, when fast production and large quantities were the highest priority, the ZiS-3 took part in combat without having been put to the tests. However, in the battlefield it proved its superiority over other anti-tank guns and later it was recognised by the authorities and obtained its official name - the divisional field gun model 1942. Due to its high combat effectiveness, the ZiS-3 had the largest share in the field gun production at wartime.

After the end of the First World War, the military forces of Germany called Reichswehr were limited to 100,000 soldiers under the terms of the Treaty of Versailles. In 1935, the Nazi army was renamed the Wehrmacht which allowed the Third Reich to increase its military strength. The branches of the Wehrmacht were the Heer (army), the Kriegsmarine (navy) and the Luftwaffe (air force). On the Wehrmacht recruitment posters the "ideal German soldier" was depicted as a blond and blue-eyed young man. Werner Goldberg, a German soldier, became the prototype of that image, however later he was "dismissed" after he had been found out to be half-Jewish. It is believed that the total number of soldiers who were recruited for service in the Wehrmacht during its existence from 1935 to 1945 constituted 18.2 million.
