Division Miniatures 1:35 US Army/Marine L.R.R.P. (Vietnam) - Resin Figure #35-048
L.R.R.P. or Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol units were first used during the Vietnam war by the 101st Airborne Division in 1965. Various Infantry Divisions followed suit and by 1966 all Infantry Divisions had been authorised to establish their own L.R.R.P. unit. Training to become a L.R.R.P. soldier was strenuous and training staff were often Special Forces trained soldiers that had graduated from the infamous 'Recondo School' in Nha Trang. The USMC also used Force Recon and Battalion Recon teams to conduct long ranged recon operations. USMC Recon teams were normally larger in size and more heavily armed, unlike their Army and SF counterparts, Marine Recon did not commonly use indigenous Montagnards as scouts.
In 1969 all Army 'Lurps' were merged into the 75th Infantry Regiment (Ranger).
The kit includes one unpainted resin figure of an American L.R.R.P. soldier with Alice pack and Colt Carbine.

Academy 1:35 - M3 Stuart "Honey" British version (Replaces ACA01399) - Plastic Model Kit #13270
The M3 Stuart was an American light tank that had been delivered to British forces by the US Government during WWII, before the Americans officially entered the war. Subsequently it was deployed by the Allies until the capitulation of Germany.
"Stuart" was a nickname given in reference to James Stuart, an American Confederate States Army general of the Civil War. When a British tankman saw the tank for the first time, he remarked "She's a honey". That name stuck and in British service the M3 was often referred to as "Honey".
Compared to the previous Light Tank M2, the Stuart had an improved suspension, better gun recoil mechanism and thicker armour, unusual for a light tank. The vehicle was armed with a 37mm M5 gun (which was later replaced with a longer M6 version) and a several Browning machine guns. The tank production lasted from 1941 to 1943.
In 1941 the British army had 700 Stuart tanks in service, 170 of which were deployed in Operation Crusader in North Africa. Though Stuarts surpassed most of the Axis tanks in many respects, the operation was unsuccessful due to the poor tactics of British troops.
In the following years the British usually avoided using Stuarts in tank-to tank fights, deploying them mostly in reconnaissance operations. In some cases the turret was removed for the sake of lighter weight and better mobility (such versions were known as "Stuart Recce"), some other units were transformed to either armoured personnel carriers ("Stuart Kangaroo") or command vehicles ("Stuart Command"). The M3 served with the British army till the end of the war, though in smaller numbers than those used by the Americans.

Academy 1:35 - Flakpanzer IV Wirbelwind (Replaces ACA01333) - Plastic Figure Model Kit #13236
The Flakpanzer IV "Wirbelwind" (Whirlwind in English) was a self-propelled anti-aircraft gun designed by the Germans on the basis of the Panzer IV tank. Its development was launched in 1944 when Nazi troops suffered great losses from Allied Air Forces.
The Flakpanzer IV featured an open-top turret fitted with four 2 cm Flak 38 anti-aircraft guns. It was nicknamed "Keksdose" ("Biscuit Tin") because of the turret shape which reminded of a nine-sided polygon.
On the battlefield 2 cm shells turned out insufficient against aircraft, however in general the gun performed well against infantry troops as well as trucks and armoured cars. Later the Flakpanzer IV was replaced with the Flakpanzer IV Ostwind (East Wind), a version more powerful against air targets.

Academy 1:35 - Sturmgeschütz IV assault tank (Replaces ACA13235) - Plastic Figure Model Kit #13235
The Sturmgeschütz IV, shortened to StuG IV or Sd.Kfz.167, was a German assault gun designed on the basis of the Panzer IV in the last years of the Second World War. The main role of the StuG IV on the battlefield was the same anti-tank role of its predecessor the StuG III. The use of StuG IV guns was a considerable support to the weakening German forces on both fronts.
The StuG IV was practically identical to its predecessor, however it was a bit lighter, which in view of the limited resources was a great advantage. In the period between December 1943 and May 1945 over a thousand of StuG IVs were built. The gun was proved effective against both Soviet and Allied tanks.

Trumpeter 1:35 - Soviet JS-2 Heavy Tank - Plastic model kit #05588
After it became clear that the JS-1 was incapable of destroying the German Tiger and Panther tanks, Soviet engineers came up with an upgraded model of the JS series - the JS-2 heavy tank. The production of the early version began in 1943 in Chelyabinsk. The JS-2 was equipped with the D-25T gun, also known as the 122 mm gun, with higher armour-piercing qualities. In addition, compared to the JS-1 and its prototype models of the KV series, the JS-2 had thicker front armour and a muzzle recoil compensator. Besides, it was much lighter and faster.
The JS-2 and Tiger I were able to hit each other at a range of less than 1,000 m which was an average combat distance. Moreover, due to high-explosive fragmentation shells of the D-25T gun the JS-2 could do severe damage to the heaviest German tanks even without piercing their armour.
The JS-2 first saw combat in February 1944 during the Korsun–Shevchenkovsky Offensive. In spring of the same year JS-2 tanks destroyed up to 40 German tanks (including Tiger Is), 10 anti-tank guns and several AFVs.
After the end of the war, the production of JS tanks continued and in the 1950's remaining JS-2 units were modified to a new JS-2M version. In the late 1960's, when heavy tanks were replaced with medium tanks, the JS vehicles were no longer in active service with the Red Army.

The two major improvements of the GCT 155mm over the Mk F3 155mm are the nuclear-biological-chemical (NBC) protection for the crew and the ability to carry all four crew members (the Mk F3 could only carry two, and the other two had to be transported in support vehicles).

Meng Model 1:35 - Soviet T-10M Heavy Tank - Plastic model kit #TS-018
With the start of the Cold War in the late 1940's the Soviets made a decision to bring into development the IS series of heavy tanks (IS - "Iosif Stalin", Russian for "Joseph Stalin"). Based on the IS-3 model, the first prototypes were designated IS-8 and IS-9. In 1952 the new vehicle was put into production under the name IS-10, however with the beginning of the de-Stalinization period following Stalin's death in 1953 it was renamed the T-10.
The T-10 adopted many features of the earlier IS models, e.g. it was armed with an enhanced 122 mm gun M1931/37 from the IS-2 and IS-3 tanks. The main improvements of the T-10 consisted of a larger turret mount, a better diesel engine, thicker armour and a hull extended to fit an engine cooling system. Also, the T-10 had seven pairs of road wheels unlike the IS-3 which had only six. In general, the T-10 showed similar performance as the IS-3, however it had more room for ammunition. In combat T-10 tanks were mainly used as a support to infantry troops and during breakthrough operations.
The T-10M was an upgraded version of the T-10 which entered production in 1957 at both the Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant and the Kirov Plant. The major difference concerned the armament of the tank: the new M-62-TS gun was longer than the previous M1931/37 and featured a unique multi-slotted muzzle brake (a device that reduces recoil of the gun) as well as a fume extractor (a device on the gun barrel that prevents toxic gases from getting inside the vehicle's fighting compartment).
The development of more powerful engines, better suspension systems and light composite armour made it possible to increase tank firepower, armour protection and mobility. These developments allowed for replacing heavy tanks with lighter medium tanks. The T-10 was phased out in the 1960's and, along with the rest of the Soviet heavy tanks, replaced with the T-64, T-72, T-80 and other medium tanks.

£43.00 GBP
The CCKW produced by General Motors Corporation was an American 2,5-ton 6x6 cargo truck that served with the US Army both in the Second World War and the Korean War. It was one of the main vehicles of the famous Red Ball Express that kept Allied armies supplied as they moved quickly through Europe after the D-Day.
The name CCKW comes from the GMC model nomenclature. Each letter describes vehicle features: "C" - designed in 1941, "C" - conventional cab, "K" - all-wheeled drive, "W" - dual rear axles. The CCKW was powered by a highly reliable GMC 270 engine which was designed for use in commercial trucks. One of the truck variants that used short wheel base was named the SWB 352.
The initial design featured a metal roof, and in 1944 GMC introduced open cab versions with a canvas roof. Some of those cabs allowed for mounting a machine gun above the passenger's seat.
The CCKW production stopped in 1945. By that time over 500,000 units were built. After the Second World War the surviving vehicles were widely used by the US Army until the mid-1960's.

Meng Model 1:35 - M1A1 Abrams TUSK Main Battle Tank - Plastic model kit #TS-032
The M1 Abrams is a modern U.S. third-generation main battle tank. It entered service in 1980 to replace the M60. The M1 is the principal main battle tank of the U.S. Army and the Marine Corps. It is also widely used by the armies of Egypt, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Australia and Iraq.
A modification of the first Abrams model, the M1A1 was introduced in 1986. It was equipped with a M256 120 mm smoothbore gun and a CBRN protection system. The tank first saw combat in 1991 during the Persian Gulf War. About 2,000 units took part in the liberation of Kuwait and only 23 of them were totally destroyed. The M1A1 fire could reach the enemy's positions at the range of 2,500 metres. That range was deadly to Iraq's Soviet-era tanks, inferior to the M1A1. In fact, the Abrams tanks could damage Iraqi tanks before they approached close enough to open fire. In 1992 the M1A1 was upgraded to the M1A2 version.

Miniart 1:35 - USV-BR 76mm Gun Mod.1941 with Limber and Crew - Plastic model kit #35129
The USV was a Soviet 76 mm cannon issued in 1939 for the demands of the Red Army. The gun was classified as "divisional" because it was specifically meant for batteries under the direct command of division headquarters. Based on the previous F-22 design, the USV gun was also called the F-22 USV.
By 1940 over a thousand units were ready, and in 1941 when the plan for divisional guns was fulfilled, the production stopped, however not for long. With the German invasion of the Soviet Union the production was reopened at the Barrikady factory in Stalingrad and No. 92 Plant in Nizhny Novgorod. The relaunched model was designated the USV-BR. It was widely deployed in 1941, the first year of the Great Patriotic War. Over eight thousand units were built in the following two years, but by the end of 1942 the USV-BR was completely replaced by the simpler and cheaper ZiS-3.
The kit contains 329 parts.

Meng Model 1:35 - D9R Armoured Bulldozer - Plastic model kit #SS-002
Designed and manufactured by Caterpillar Inc., the D9 bulldozer is equipped with a large blade and a rear ripper attachment, and weighs 49 tons. The Israeli Defense Forces acquired a number of these bulldozers and modified them for military combat engineering use. The Israeli Armoured bulldozer D9R is used by the IDF Combat Engineering Corps for combat engineering and counter-terrorism operations. Academy 1:35 - M36/M36B2 US Army "Battle of the Bulge" - Plastic Figure Model Kit #13501
The American tank destroyer M36 was designed in 1943 when the US Army needed a powerful vehicle to combat German Panther and Tiger tanks. This new tank was nicknamed "Jackson" in reference to the Confederate General of the Civil War, Stonewall Jackson. The M36's turret mounted the 90 mm gun M3 allowing the tank to nail down any known German tanks at 1000 to 2500m range depending on the armour thickness. However, due to its open-top turret the tank was vulnerable to shell fragments and snipers. Field modifications, particularly additional roof iron plating, were hastily performed by the crews. Later on folding panels were developed for protection against shell fragments, these were adopted by the M36B2.
Kit details:
